5 Ups & 2 Downs From UFC 248

Ups

5. Mongolian Power

If you didn't know much about Mongolian bantamweight, Danaa Batgerel, then we'd forgive you. He's not the most heralded or publicised 135lber competing in the UFC, but his victory at UFC 248 made everyone realise that he has the potential to be a genuine dark horse in the division.

Taking on veteran fighter Guido Cannetti, in the very first fight of the night, Batgeral proved early on that he was the superior boxer, landing crisp punches against the aggresive Argentinian. Cannetti wanted to land a jab on Bategeral and gauge his opponent's range, but his attempt would eventually lead to his demise.

Bategeral landed a pinpoint accurate left hook that made Cannetti's eyes roll back. Some follow-up punches were landed, but it was quite obvious that there was no chance of him coming back into the bout. The real beauty of the punch wasn't the strike itself, but the head movement that came with it. Cannetti's jab met nothing but air as Batgeral slipped out the way easily.
