7 Ups & 3 Downs From UFC 247

Downs...

3. Disappointed Kraken

After making a sensational appearance on Dana White's Contender Series, many believed giant heavyweight, Juan Adams, could and should become a force among the big men in his weight class at some point. In terms of physical attributes, he has the size, power and athleticism to be a threat, but desperately needed the right coach to sharpen up his skills

A move to the famed Jackson-Winkeljohn gym in Albuquerque. New Mexico, seemed like an incredibly smart idea as he'd be under the tutelage of some world class coaches. However, when he stepped into the Octagon and utilised the new fighting stance he'd worked on, he looked quite awkward and not very fluid in his movements.

This turned out be the downfall for Adams, who was quickly knocked out by his opponent, Justin Tafa, in brutal fashion due to his hesitancy. While Adams has a brilliant personality and is extremely funny on social media, that doesn't win you fights inside the Octagon. If he manages to avoid his pink slip and get another fight in the UFC, he'll really need to release the Kraken this time around.
