8 Times Fighters Won When They Should Have Been DQ'd

7. Michael Bisping Illegally Knees A Grounded Jorge Rivera

Loved and hated in almost equal measure, Michael Bisping has long established himself as one of the most polarising figures in the history of the UFC.

What has separated Bisping from many of his contemporaries during his rise was his ability to talk trash. The Cypriot born scrapper had the capacity to really get under his opponent's skin.

Though Bisping would later be known for his legendary feuds with Georges St-Pierre and Luke Rockhold, the Brit's sworn enemy during his rise up the UFC ranks was Jorge Rivera.

Rivera was riding a three-fight win streak coming into the bout and the fight was seen as a battle of rising contenders at 185lbs.

The pair engaged in a war of words prior to the fight that was capped off by a cringeworthy video released by Rivera that was intended to get under Bisping's skin.

It worked, but possibly not in the way Rivera might have hoped.

Bisping was quick to take the fight to his opponent, but perhaps his emotions got the better of him when he landed a brutal illegal knee to a downed Rivera that threatened to bring an end to the bout.

Rivera bravely continued but Bisping would ultimately get the finish in the second round.
