They think he's toast... but he's still the bread.

Conor McGregor has predicted that he will earn around $80 million for his upcoming bout with Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone.

The unprecedented figure will easily be the most that any MMA fighter has ever pocketed for a single bout, even if his actual fight purse won't even make up a fraction of that.

He mentioned, in a pre-recorded interview on the Ariel Helwani's MMA Show, that he was 'confident it's going to be a nice paycheck' and that "they think I'm toast, but I'm still the bread."

Bearing in mind that McGregor took home a staggering $50 million for his humbling at the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in 2018, this expected windfall only highlights just how much the fans and sponsors are welcoming the 'Notorious' one's return.

It still doesn't quite surpass the $100 million he pocketed from his super-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in August 2017. However, McGregor has claimed that he re-negotiated his figure before this clash and is only on a one-fight deal - with the intention of re-negotiating and signing a new one before his next fight in his 'season'.

He also hinted at a possible rematch with Mayweather Jr. and a Manny Pacquiao fight at some point in the near future.
