10 Best WWE Performers Of 2018 (So Far)

The half-term report cards are in.

We're just about approaching the halfway point of 2018, and already, there's been plenty for WWE fans to complain about.

Both of the year's major world title feuds have failed to live up to their billing, with matches between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns remembered less for their in-ring quality than the indifferent audience reactions by which they were greeted. Even AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura have at times flattered to deceive, and that's really saying something.

But look on the bright side. NXT has been awesome, dazzling fans week in week out with matches of a standard so high you'd have thought they took place in the Tokyo Dome. On the main roster, meanwhile, Daniel Bryan is once again an active competitor (even if he is currently feuding with Big Cass), and Ronda Rousey is a lot better in the ring than many of us expected.

The point is that while, yes, not everything in WWE has been perfect this year, many of its wrestlers - even those whose standards may have dipped somewhat from the last couple - are deserving of a bit of praise. Here are the top 10 performers so far.

10. Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman is probably this list's most dubious inclusion (hence his lowly placement), in that it's difficult to point to any one match he's been a part of that was absolutely breathtakingly good.

You could perhaps say the Elimination Chamber bout in February. Though it featured a whopping seven men, Braun was definitely the glue that held it all together, pinning every single competitor except eventual winner Roman Reigns.

Look at what else he's accomplished in the first half of 2018, though. Just last month, he became the first-ever winner of the Greatest Royal Rumble, a feat for which he was awarded a basically meaningless green title belt.

He also won the Raw Tag Team Championship despite being paired up with a 10-year-old boy. Both in kayfabe and out, that's a pretty impressive accomplishment. Nicholas was basically a passenger in their match against The Bar.
