10 Blatant WWE Cash Grabs
9. Finn Bálor's Demon
You can probably imagine exactly what kind of reaction Vince McMahon had to seeing Finn Bálor in his full 'Demon' get-up for the first time.
After the obvious 'he's small' comments were out of the way, it probably involved him drooling at the prospect of just how much money he could make from the vast array of children who would want to dress up as the theatrical character going forward.
This led to Bálor being catapulted straight into a main event feud upon his arrival onto the main roster in 2016 and his 'Demon King' would find himself intimidating Seth Rollins in the lead up to their clash at SummerSlam to decide who would become the inaugural Universal Champion.
Despite being injured in his victorious showing on the night, Bálor's popularity surged after this event and his 'Demon King' and 'Bálor Club' merchandise was among the company's top sellers.
So, this blatant attempt to extract money from those who wanted to know what all the fuss surrounding this new character was about definitely paid off.
Yet, that's why it's still so confusing as to why WWE didn't decide to put more of their eggs in Bálor's basket after his eventual return. When he was injured he still earned them a ton of money, so just imagine how much they could have profited from an extended run as the 'Demon Champion'.
