10 Criminally Low WWE PPV Buyrates

8. Vengeance 2011 - (121,000 Buys)

Vengeance 2011 The first Vengeance event since 2007, 2011's iteration was headlined by a Last Man Standing bout between Alberto Del Rio and John Cena, but also had a World Heavyweight Championship clash between Mark Henry and The Big Show as a selling point. It seems that neither attraction really appealed to the WWE fan base, as Vengeance fell awkwardly in between Hell In A Cell (182,000 buys) and Survivor Series (312,000 buys) in 2011. To make matters worse, only 65,000 people in North America elected to purchase the show, which is clearly very low. Vengeance hasn't been seen since on the Pay-Per-View calendar, so it's likely Vince McMahon was none too pleased with the poor performance of the event. In fairness, Vengeance was the second WWE PPV of October, 2011, coming just three weeks after Hell In A Cell, and Survivor Series followed less than one month later. In the span of less than two months, WWE presented three different pay-to-view shows, which is far too many. It's no wonder the event didn't do too well!
