10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About WrestleMania 33

Temper your expectations: we're in for a bumpy ride...

WrestleMania season is easily the most exciting time of the year for many wrestling fans. This is when everything WWE have done over the past 12 months finally comes to a head, and this Sunday night, the company hit Orlando's Camping World Stadium for 2017's biggest show - WrestleMania 33.

It's hard to avoid getting caught up in the hype. Even when the card doesn't look particularly alluring, 'Mania always manages to produce a number of memorable moments, and with the likes of Finn Bálor, Hulk Hogan, and the Hardys reportedly set to return, there is plenty of scope for big surprises this year.

The show looks far from perfect, however, and no amount of enthusiasm can hide WM33's flaws. Look beyond the excitement and you'll find a show rife with major issues, and a lineup devoid of obvious 'Match of the Year' candidates. There's a strong chance that just like last year, 33 could be a disaster if a few things go wrong, and while nobody wants to feel pessimistic ahead of "The Ultimate Thrill Ride," ignoring its faults only sets us up for disappointment.

10. The Undertaker Is In A Bad Way

The Undertaker is a huge part of WrestleMania’s appeal. This is the only show of the year where you can still guarantee his appearance, and his match always feels special ahead of the event, regardless of the opponent. His very presence is an important part of 'Mania’s presentation, his entrances always look incredible, and when he retires, he’ll be taking a piece of WWE’s flagship pay-per-view with him.

Unfortunately, 'Taker’s career has been on a steady decline since losing his streak to Brock Lesnar. The WM31 bout with Bray Wyatt was above average at best, and last year’s Shane McMahon farce was one of the most laborious 'Mania matches of 'Taker’s career. Now, heading into a showdown with Roman Reigns, 'The Phenom' looks wobblier than ever.

Undertaker was visibly off the pace and out of shape at the Royal Rumble, and he had major hip surgery back in September. Rumour has it that he’s in dire need of a hip replacement, but he’ll be forced to retire when he has the procedure. Furthermore, 'Taker looked visibly uncomfortable taking Reigns’ Spear a few weeks ago, and if the evidence is anything to go by, this year’s match could be a dud.
