10 Reasons Why WWE Needs To Burn Raw Down And Start Again
7. The Administrative Mess
Not all of Raw’s problems are to do with creative. Well yes, they are, but it is also the way in which the show is put together and organized that helps create many of them in the first place.
Almost every week there are reports about how the script was torn up and re-written minutes before the show went on air. Big matches aren’t advertised, promos feel random and out of place. All and all, it just makes it harder to invest in as a viewer.
This has almost certainly had an impact on the quality of the product. Unadvertised showcases lower their chances of drawing in more viewers. Stuff happening randomly, like that Goldberg promo where he had literally dreamed up a scenario where Drew insulted legends, confuses the audience and makes it harder to buy in.
It seems laughable now that the whole reason Paul Heyman was fired from his role as Raw Executive Director was to streamline the creative process. If this was Vince’s idea of improving the show, then it went about as well as the Gobbledy Gooker.
