10 Reasons WWE's 2020 Was Better Than 2019

The Undertaker is one wrestler who has had a hard time hanging up his boots. Although age finally caught up to 'The Deadman,' he was happy to come back to WWE anytime it beckoned. Unfortunately, his loyalty led to disappointing matches with the likes of Roman Reigns and Goldberg that risked tarnishing his 30-year legacy.

Although 'Taker "retired" after his match with Reigns only to return once again, WWE led fans to believe 'The Phenom' was really going away for good after his WrestleMania 36 match with AJ Styles. He participated in candid interviews, speaking as though the ropes were far behind him. The Last Ride was a success for the WWE Network and featured 'Taker in a more sincere form, breaking kayfabe while discussing his career.

Perhaps fans really have seen the end of their favorite wizard-mortician.

Some suspected when WWE announced The Undertaker's Final Farewell at the 2020 Survivor Series event, he'd set up his last match (again). The general thought was 'The Fiend' would ambush him, as both Bray Wyatt and 'Taker discussed the potential feud shortly before the event.

However, he simply retired and laid his character to bed. Finally, he ended on a higher note, considering the acclaimed 'Boneyard Match' was a much better ending than squashing Cena in 2018. Some dream matches may have never occurred, such as with Wyatt or Sting, but 'The Deadman' paid his dues and was able to (finally) rest in peace.
