9. AEW Will Avoid WWE's Mistakes

Though he never directly said as much, Khan implicitly and repeatedly made clear that AEW is looking to promote a product contrary to WWE, whilst also avoiding many of de facto industry leader's most frequent errors.

Most tellingly, the President expounded the company's mission statement to produce a "compelling sports based product which stresses competition, emphasises wins and losses, and treats the competitors, fans, and wrestling with respect." Reading between the fairly wide lines, then: don't do any of the things everybody bashes WWE for.

Khan reserved another subtle dig at AEW's ostensible rivals. When skirting the subject of the ideal roster size, he mused that he doesn't want to make the same mistake as other companies by having people on the books just for the sake of it. Only one 'other company' has the resources to stockpile - and waste - talent in this manner.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
