10 Ways TNA Can Attract More Pro Wrestling Fans

8. Make The Most Of Superstars With Relatable Characters

http://youtu.be/pgytTr9--Zs This is what made WWE a show that attracted such massive ratings in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their best wrestlers were often characters that had reality embedded in their personas, that weren't overtly cartoonish or having a profession outside of wrestling. Stone Cold Steve Austin was a tough, beer-drinking SOB, The Rock a cocky athlete with a silver tongue, and Triple H was a cerebral and vicious opportunist. These characters were easy for fans to digest and comprehend, making their actions familiar but also entertaining. Their rivalries were based on disputes of pure emotion and retribution, and this made them icons in the fans eyes, and probably inspired more people to take up professional wrestling than the Goon ever did. This can be seen today in TNA. The most popular and re-watchable wrestlers are not Jersey Shore rip-offs like Robbie E or bisexual sex-obsessives like Orlando Jordan. They are AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, etc. These are wrestlers that go out with the goal of being the best they can possibly be and get embroiled in rivalries either based on raw viceral hatred or a desire to be the better man. These wrestlers mean something as they are easy to digest for the audience, and for TNA to continue to thrive, they should continue to push the background reality of superstars to make them everyman heroes for the average wrestling fan, rather than a character with less depth than a political party manifesto.
