AJ Styles was so close to joining All Elite Wrestling.

Styles and the Club were supposed to make their AEW debut on the inaugural episode of AEW Dynamite, but WWE swept in and offered all three men lucrative deals to stay with the company.

There are numerous reports surrounding AJ Styles and his contract with AEW. In an interview with Newsweek's Phillip Martinez, Styles stated:

"I can tell you that this contract that I've signed is my last. This is the perfect place for me to be. It's family-oriented, I have no problem taking my family to the shows. It's a PG product, which I enjoy. I'm in the best place I can be for my career."

Styles has always been open about his family and how much they mean to him. WWE gives him the platform to perform on a safe, streamlined level. This is something reported by Fiteful's Sean Ross Sapp who reported that Styles would like a "lighter schedule" going forward.

This makes all the sense in the world. Styles is putting his family first as demonstrated by his comments. While we may never see the Phenomenal One take on the Cleaner in AEW, Styles has earned a perfect part-time schedule in WWE.
