Triple H found a novel way about 15 years ago of ensuring that he would never end up in the WWE dog house again: he married the chairman's daughter.

Before that, however, he was no more untouchable than any other member of the roster. He was out in the cold for all of a few months before his employers apparently realised that losing another of their brightest young stars to WCW was a risk they couldn't afford to take. The launch of D-Generation X eventually thrust him back into the limelight, where he has remained ever since.
