10 WWE Wrestlers Who Came Back From The Cold
3. Triple H
Triple H found a novel way about 15 years ago of ensuring that he would never end up in the WWE dog house again: he married the chairman's daughter.
Before that, however, he was no more untouchable than any other member of the roster. This was made clear in 1996 when 'The Game' got on the wrong side of his future father-in-law for his role in the famous kayfabe-breaking MSG incident, alongside Kliq buddies Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall.
With HBK a main event mainstay and Nash and Hall now outside Vince's jurisdiction, HHH had to take the fall. And the take the fall he did: plans to have him win King of the Ring in June were abandoned, with the crown awarded to Steve Austin instead.
He was out in the cold for all of a few months before his employers apparently realised that losing another of their brightest young stars to WCW was a risk they couldn't afford to take. The launch of D-Generation X eventually thrust him back into the limelight, where he has remained ever since.
