14 Most Influential Wrestlers In WWE History

8. John Cena

It is difficult to rank John Cena's influence higher at this stage, because he is still an active performer and his career could yet become even more influential. There's already no doubting it, he's absolutely one of the most influential superstars of all time. There are going to be generations of kids inspired to get into pro wrestling from watching their hero John Cena. Just like Hogan and Warrior inspired a generation of kids in the 80's, Cena has been that guy for this era. From a company standpoint, Cena has also influenced business decision making and creative booking in a way that will resonate for years. He illustrated that traditional heel / face dynamics dead, proving that a character can be all things to all people. He's also dominated merchandise and tv ratings for years now, which has in turn strengthened the WWE's conviction that the top guy should be the top commercial performer. When you look at Roman Reigns' push, you can clearly see Vince McMahon wanting to create the next Cena. The living legend is very much the main mould for wrestlers for years to come.
