25 Greatest WWE Raw Moments Ever
16. Zamboni Attack (September 28th, 1998)
There's an intangible magic to so much of Stone Cold Steve Austin's 1997-1999 body of work that it's almost unfair to separate one scene from another when reliving his most infamous attacks. But his zamboni assault on Vince McMahon's sterile championship coronation overflowed with the beautiful madness of his topline tenure.
A ludicrous vehicle in and of itself, half the world was only learning what a 'zamboni' even was as 'The Rattlesnake' crashed into the ring and flew like a subverted superhero at the bewildered Chairman.
Undertaker and Kane couldn't even tear Austin away from Vince as fists flew. An inflatable Stone Cold toy launched from the crowd even made it into the ring, reminding viewers that the brawl was still live (and alive) frat party theatre. In a final coda to the legendary ordeal, Austin ran over wires on the way to the ring that briefly killed the sound and almost knackered the visual too. Not for the first time in the company's reascension, some good fortune again aided incredible action.
