4 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 30)
6. Mindless Banter
Setting aside the back-of-a-cocktail-napkin booking for a second, did anyone find the opening segment actually entertaining?
Did anyone involved in that get “over” from it? Or would those 15 minutes have been better spent doing anything else and just throw two graphics up announcing the tag title match and United States Championship triple threat? (It’s not like WWE wasn’t going to toss up promos multiple times throughout the show anyway.)
Because WWE had three hours to fill on Raw each week, we get stuff like a 15-minute talking segment with prattling arguments instead of any actual character development or storyline. Seven guys arguing and an authority figure runs out and makes two matches is not an angle or storyline, and there is zero character development involved.
But hey, they got one of the 12 quarter-hours filled!
