After a lackluster Extreme Rules on Sunday night, WWE Raw followed up Monday night with more of the same, giving us substandard wrestling and minor storyline advancement.

Raw was not a highly entertaining show this week. If you weren’t a completist or watching the show to write an article, then you most likely checked out and tuned out at some point. The big hook – two triple threat matches to set up a #1 contender’s match for a Universal Championship match at SummerSlam – was telegraphed the moment GM Kurt Angle announced he matches.

We did get to see Ronda Rousey return early from her suspension – which then resulted in her earning an extended at-home vacation, but she also got a bit of a present from Angle.

And we saw a big step forward(?) in the Sasha Banks/Bayley saga, which fans will either love (for the right or wrong reasons) or hate.

How many writers does WWE employ on its staff again? Because if all of this is the best they can come up with, then we’ve got some serious problems, as it’s gotten worse, not better.

For now, let’s dive into this and see how Raw stacked up. Let’s get to it…

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
