5 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jul 14)

Downs...

4. 142 Days

142 days is how long it's been since Rohit Raju picked up a victory that didn't then result in some sort of aftermath that saw 'The Desi Hitman' laid out. It was the 25 February episode of Impact Wrestling that saw him defeat Wentz, back in the days when he was still associated with Mahabali Shera and Gama Singh.

He's had wins since then of course, defeating Corey Storm at the February Sacrifice special, old TNA star Chase Stevens on a recent episode of Impact, and then more recently, he teamed with The Finesse and Bench Press Express in a winning effort over Willie Mack and The Deaners. However, for different reasons, we don't count those wins as being 'wins with no downside to them'. Storm was on one of the Twitch/Impact Plus specials, which rarely ever carry over stories to the 'main' Impact product, while his win in that six man tag match only featured Raju as a means of filling the numbers. Defeating Stevens was the closest he's come since the end of February, but a Gore from Rhino post-match ruined the moment.

Now, he's lost to Tommy Dreamer and Crazzy Steve while teaming with Moose, a match that Raju was only in because 'Mr Impact Wrestling' couldn't find anyone else to team with him. Once again, Rohit Raju was simply there because no-one else could be. He was filling the numbers again. He's a phenomenal talent - why can't Impact simply see that fact, and benefit from it?
