5 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Apr 7)

5. Page Vs. Caster Comes Unglued

Hangman Page
AEW

Hangman Page vs. Max Caster was unfortunately undermined by a number of clunky, mistimed moments throughout, particularly one spot towards the end when Anthony Bowens slid Caster a boombox to whack Page with while stuck in position for the Deadeye. It felt like Caster and Page were lingering for an eternity for the prop reached its destination. This, along with a disappointing volume of other slips and slides, hindered what could have been a fun opener.

Page enjoyed the lion's share of offense, when Caster breaking momentum through textbook heel work, with Bowens a constant menace. He worked the arm reasonably well after smashing Page into the ring post but ended up missing his Mic Drop finisher, leading to a great finish that saw Page hit the Buckshot Lariat after Moonsaulting onto Bowens.

Racking up the wins at 6-0, Page is on a great little run and is due a step up in competition. It'll be interesting to see where he heads next, given how many of AEW's main event players are currently occupied elsewhere.
