5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 10)

After dumpster fire Super Showdown, Raw spins its wheels with lackluster show.

After a dismal and nearly universally panned Super Showdown, WWE returned stateside for Raw and attempted to right the ship.

The result was an uneven episode that revealed more about what ails WWE today than presenting good or bad segments. The show wasn’t intolerable, but it wasn’t memorable either. It will likely be forgotten by next week. Several segments landed in what could be termed purgatory, neither good nor bad, so they were difficult to characterize for this column.

Ask yourself: Who are the top heels on Raw? Baron Corbin? Sami Zayn? Samoa Joe? Bobby Lashley? Drew McIntyre? Aside from McIntyre and maybe Joe, do any of the scream “world title contender?” That in and of itself is a sizable problem.

The women’s division has been decimated by injuries, but there still are enough women to field a tag team to face the IIconics, right? Right?

Half the roster seems to be caught up chasing the 24/7 Championship, while all you need to do to get a United States Championship match is grab a mic and walk out to the ring. Meanwhile Drake Maverick is busy chasing the ugly belt while his tag team clients, AOP, have returned to action but weren’t wreaking havoc on Raw.

Raw wasn’t actively bad, but it was passively bland. And with Stomping Grounds looking like a bunch of retreads, this isn’t boding well heading into summer.

With that said, let’s get to it…
