6 NXT Tag Teams That Everybody Forgot About
5. Dawson And Dylan
The Revival haven't had the best of luck on the main roster since their post-Wrestlemania debut earlier this year, with both Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson hit by successive injuries. As such, they haven't yet been involved in any programs to rival their rivalries with Enzo And Cass, American Alpha, #DIY and The Authors Of Pain, which saw them dominate the NXT tag team landscape for over a year from late 2015 onwards.
Dash Wilder was not Scott Dawson's first or even his second tag team partner, however, though he has maintained the same 'no nonsense Southerner' character since his initial NXT debut back in 2013. This saw him appear alongside Garrett Dylan, the son of actor/musician Kris Kristofferson, with the pair managed by a pre-Legionnaires Sylvester Lefort, who took on the persona of a brash French playboy that had seen money in their partnership. Most bizarrely, they would bring bottles of JR's barbeque sauce to the ring and drink from them.
The pair became the first noteworthy opponents for The Ascension at the beginning of their year-long title reign, by default, after racking up a couple of wins against jobbers. They quietly disbanded after being defeated, with Dylan being released from the company. Lefort would then pair Dawson with Rusev, only for them to part almost immediately once the singles potential of the 'Bulgarian Brute' was realised and he was fast-tracked to the main roster.
