6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 30)
3. Bayley's Point
Sasha Banks has never had a singles title reign longer than a month or so. Her five reigns as Raw Women's Champ were all extremely short, and she's only around one week into her first SmackDown Women's Title stint. Bayley cleverly used that as the crux of her promo on Friday night.
She said that Sasha couldn't defend a belt to save her life, which was a nice nod back in time; on that, it only hammers home the point about Survivor Series mentioned earlier. WWE are happy to talk about title reigns from 2016, but they can't acknowledge that Kevin Owens feuded with Bray Wyatt last month? It's weird.
OK, enough about that.
A title rematch between Bayley and Sasha isn't exactly a bad thing. This is the kind of match WWE can hype as SmackDown's main event, and it should also put their rivalry on ice in the short-term when Banks wins definitively. They can always come back to this in a few months.
They should.
