6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 6)

The 'Big Dog' blows big chunks.

WWE at least tried to give next week's TLC pay-per-view some build on this week's SmackDown.

Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz, Roman Reigns vs. 'King' Corbin and New Day vs. The Revival were all set up on the show, and Lacey Evans vs. Bayley is being teased too as part of the blue brand's contribution. It's unclear whether or not Miz vs. Wyatt will be for the Universal Title, but it doesn't look like that's important to creative right now.

They're just trying to get through until the end of the year so they can dig into the pre-Royal Rumble build and all that WrestleMania season hoopla. WWE are playing the waiting game and keeping some big matches (like a Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan repeat) in their back pocket. That's why this week's show was almost even when it came to those ups and downs.

SmackDown was an inoffensive two hours of typical WWE content. Your enjoyment here depended on an ability to stomach some throwaway stuff. The show is still an easier watch than Raw though, there's no doubt about that...
