6 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (25 Mar)

DOWNS

4. Commentary

Phillips Saxton

Now, with absolutely every issue I have with this week's NXT, I just want to quickly caveat it with this. These are not normal times we are living in, so to expect a normal standard out of any televised entertainment is stupid. With the industry so susceptible to things like this, I'm personally just thankful for any wrestling I can get at the minute.

But, that being said, you can't just give everything a free pass, and if the show is determined to try and present itself as 'look lads! everything's fine! here's some wrestling! please don't change the channel' then I'm going to pay them the respect of doing the same. With that in mind, the commentary sucked.

Tom Phillips and Triple H were really good last week. The former kept things ticking along in between the segments, while the latter provided us with a level of insight you'd expect from a 30+ year veteran who's also literally putting the show together.

Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton, on the other hand, were not really good. They don't compliment each other particularly well, there was no defined play-by-play/colour dynamic, and the whole thing felt like DLC for a 2K game.
