7 Awesome Wrestling Feuds Ruined By Disappointing Matches

6. Randy Orton Vs. Bray Wyatt (WrestleMania 33)

For eight months, WWE built up the Bray Wyatt/Randy Orton story arc on SmackDown. Initially rivals, Orton would ally with the Wyatt Family to Bray’s joy and Luke Harper’s chagrin. Displaying good chemistry as a team, Orton and Wyatt won the Survivor Series match for team SmackDown and briefly held the SmackDown tag titles. All the while however, Luke Harper remained wary of The Viper.

With tensions rising, both stars secured accolades with Orton winning the 2017 Royal Rumble and Wyatt bagging the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber. The Viper then struck, burning Wyatt’s beloved compound to the ground, vowing to destroy the new champ at WrestleMania. After this hot (no pun intended) and mean-spirited angle, most expected a violent grudge match between the two at 'Mania. Additional fan theories included a double turn with Wyatt becoming the face of the feud and potential involvement from Luke Harper.

Instead, we got Randy Orton walking out on a giant sperm cell and the worst WWE Title match in WrestleMania history, a ten minute chore to watch filled with ludicrous bug shots superimposed onto the ring mat. Orton soundly terminated Wyatt’s title run and credibility until his 2019 reboot here. Worse still was the dreaded House Of Horrors rematch, one that left this formerly intriguing feud remembered in a negative light.
