7 Ups And 2 Downs For WWE NXT (Mar 3)

Which team left NXT as WWE's Women's Tag Team Champions?

Make no mistake about it, Women's Tag Team Championship match aside, there wasn't too much to get excited about coming into this week's episode of NXT. But once the dust had settled on an unexpectedly jam-packed black and gold show, it became clear that brighter days were no doubt ahead for the brand.

There was still some fun to be had last night, however, with the aforementioned Women's Tag Title match delivering a big fight feel spectacle that easily provided the belts with its finest showcase encounter to date. Not to mention the sight of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax actually being presented as convincing threats for a change. What a world.

But for every piece of well crafted in-ring action, there was sadly another instance of soul-crushing sub-soap opera level drama that left fans wishing they'd not deviated from TNT for a quick detour. But we won't get too bogged down in therapy nonsense right now because the once-developmental brand still came equipped with an outrageously entertaining Cameron Grimes threatening to change-up the CWC for good, 'Toothless Timmy' teasing a trip to his past, and the promise of two monumental NXT Championship matches in just one week's time.

A potential TakeOver is apparently looming, Tuesdays look set to become NXT, and the winner of the Wednesday Night War appears to be a foregone conclusion. Yet, we still had a show to Up and Down...
