8 Ups & 3 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (8 April)

2. Opening Match Fails

MPACT Wrestling’s return to Thursday nights needed a decent match to kick things back into gear, and sadly, it didn’t come in the form of the night’s opening six-knockout tag match.

Pitting Jordynne Grace, Rosemary, and Havok against Tenille Dashwood, Alisha Edwards, and Nevaeh, the match didn’t flow that greatly. It relied far too much on each wrestler as an individual as opposed to the two teams of three, meaning it felt more like the scheduled Hardcore Justice weapons-based scramble than an actual trios match.

The breakup of Havok and Nevaeh as a pairing wasn’t played up too much here either; with Nevaeh’s team already in the ring as the show came on air, Havok merely sauntered down to ringside doing her typical entrance and that was it. She didn’t get in Nevaeh’s face or anything. The only spot involving them saw Nevaeh legsweep Havok off the ring apron through a table at ringside.

It’s important to note that as a match, it wasn’t technically bad, but taking into account the booking and background information as well, it didn’t meet the required expectations.
