8 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (10 June)

7. Do Or Die

A new Steve Maclin vignette saw the former Forgotten Sons man stood in the same dark room he was in last Thursday. Maclin spoke of how his back is once more against the wall, how it’s do or die for him, and how he’s going to make us meet ‘Mr. Mayhem’.

This was simple, effective stuff. Everything made sense because for as long as he was in WWE, Steve’s back literally was against the wall. He was never going to get anywhere while there, regardless of who he was paired with. As much potential as he had with Wesley Blake, their gimmick wasn’t something WWE could pull off correctly.

When Maclin does eventually debut properly, people are going to heap praise upon him if his in-ring work post-WWE is any bit as good as his vignettes have been. He’s a good guy that just needed an opportunity to grab.
