AEW Boss Tony Khan ROASTS WWE Over Potential New Japan Deal

Tony Khan had strong words for WWE about NJPW before Friday's special Dynamite.

AEW owner Tony Khan blasted WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan during a fiery social media promo before a special Friday night edition of Dynamite.

Tony broached news of a potential working relationship between WWE and New Japan Pro Wrestling by saying he'd done more to represent NJPW in a few weeks than WWE's Khan had in two months. Then, the AEW chief went on to list some of the things he's booked that loop back to New Japan.

The cutting heel-style rant ended with Tony saying, "I think there’s only room for one Khan in the wrestling business, Nick, and it’s me. It’s Tony Khan - it’s not some con-man from Connecticut."

Tony Schiavone, who was standing nearby with the microphone, reacted to that final remark with an "Ooh".

This shoot-from-the-hip speech naturally split fan opinion in the comments. Some liked Tony Khan's ballsy approach, whereas others thought it didn't paint him in a great light. Regardless, the promo is getting some serious attention from the wider wrestling fanbase, and that's what AEW will want.

Nick Khan hasn't responded to Tony's words, and probably/definitely won't.
