AEW this filed two new trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office this past week.

The first, 'AEW Dark', obviously refers to the weekly YouTube show which has aired since last October. Given the free Tuesday programming has been running for over a year and has racked up 66 episodes, it's a little surprising the company have only now registered its name.

The second trademark, 'AEW Elevation', is a little more intriguing. There is no word on what this title may refer to, but it could relate to the third hour of WarnerMedia programming mooted by the promotion in recent weeks. It may also be the name of a new PPV set to be added to AEW's 2021 calendar.

The filing for both lists them under the category of 'entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances [...], of productions of wrestling programs and events.'

If and when AEW choose to invoke their brand-spanking 'Elevation' name, we can be sure they won't be shy about telling us. Check back for more details as and when they occur.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
