The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has told subscribers that WWE is considering moving AJ Styles over to Raw following WrestleMania.

The company is expected to stage its annual Superstar Shake-Up soon after it wraps up the biggest show of the year. Meltzer believes that the current WWE Champion, who has been at the heart of SmackDown since the resumption of the brand split in 2016, could be the most prominent name to switch shows.

Given talk that SmackDown is struggling to command the sort of viewership and attendance numbers that officials would like, liberating the show of AJ seems like a bold move. For fans, however, it opens up a host of (comparatively) fresh match pairings, not least of all Roman Reigns, with whom The Phenomenal One briefly tussled shortly after his WWE debut two years ago.

In his place, the WON guru has suggested that Seth Rollins might be traded to Tuesday nights. Like AJ, The Architect has become a one-show man over the past two years, having been personally chosen by commissioner Stephanie McMahon and then-GM Mick Foley as the prestigious first pick in the 2016 draft.

Of course, there have also been corresponding reports that The Big Dog will fight his fellow Hound of Justice in his first major Universal Championship defence after taking the title from Brock Lesnar on 8 April. As such, this should all be taken with a healthy dose of salt.
