Current NXT star Rhea Ripley could be heading to the main roster in the near future, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.

In the wake of Ripley unsuccessfully challenging for Io Shirai's NXT Women's Championship on this week's edition of the black and gold show, fans have been speculating on the Australian's immediate future in the company. The latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio has now confirmed that there has been talk of calling the former NXT Women's Champion up to either Raw or SmackDown soon.

After losing her title to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36 and failing to recapture it against "The Queen" and Shirai at NXT Takeover: In Your House, Ripley has slowly rebuilt her dominant aura by dispatching the likes of Mercedes Martinez and Raquel Gonzalez in 2020.

With the Royal Rumble right around the corner and both Raw and SmackDown in need of some serious female star power, perhaps Ripley could follow in Shayna Baszler's footsteps and breakout onto the main roster during the Women's Rumble match. Who knows? She could even find herself holding the Raw or SmackDown's Women's Championship by the time this year's Show of Shows comes to an end.
