CM Punk Confirms He Could Technically Wrestle For AEW

He wouldn't, would he?

CM Punk has never been shy about courting controversy, and he knows how to get the internet talking.

What would you know, it's working again in 2020. Punk appeared on the 'Kevin in the Morning with Allie & Jensen' KROQ radio show and was asked whether or not he'd be able to juggle his WWE duties as a host on Backstage with wrestling for AEW.

Yes, they actually asked that live on air.

Punk, never one to dismiss a tasty topic, said that he could "technically" work for All Elite, but noted that FOX would probably fire him on the spot for doing so. Although his deal is with the network, not WWE, they'd be unhappy if he suddenly showed up on Dynamite with Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.

So, there you go. There's nothing stopping Punk from ditching the Backstage gig (one he's likely paid a ton of cash for, mind you) and galavanting off to AEW to make some more headlines. He did also say during the interview that he's allowed to do some MMA commentary on the side.

Does he have your attention now?
