CM Punk Latest: Why The Unusual Silence About WWE?

The Wrestling Observer reports there has been no communication of late between WWE and CM Punk. The impasse continues. The strange thing about this story is it isn't just WWE getting the silent treatment from Punk , he also remains completely out of contact with people he has been friends with in the past. Why would he distance himself from personal relationships? Observer Editor Dave Meltzer describes this as a "surprising level of nuclear silence." What does that suggest? A nuclear silence implies that his quiet behaviour is loaded with something else. Could Punk be distancing himself from his friends for reasons beyond not wanting to talk to them? We don't know. Speculation will continue, but it remains almost certain that Punk's exit is exactly what it seems as, a disgruntled performer who is beyond returning to work. One friend who is on speaking terms with Punk is none other than Colt Cabana. The two best friends go back over a decade together and were this week photographed together at a hockey game. Punk looked great, fresher and younger than he ever did in the WWE. It comes as no surprise that Cabana is a wrestler Punk is confiding it, Colt is external to WWE, a king of the indies. He worked in WWE for a while himself between 2007 and 2009, but is about far removed from being a WWE guy as you will find. For whatever reason right now, CM Punk doesn't want to be communicating with wrestling talent within World Wrestling Entertainment.
