CM Punk New Interviews Lists Him As WWE Star

CM Punk has appeared in a NHL hockey video talking openly about his passion for the sport. This marks only the second occasion we have publicly heard from Punk since he left WWE back in January this year. Interestingly, the video graphic references him as 'CM Punk WWE Professional Wrestler'. In a previous appearance on 'The Talking Dead' chat show, Punk told the production team to list him as Phil Brooks. Did the NHL take the liberty to list Punk under his more famous moniker? Or is Brooks not as fussy as we first thought when it comes to his post-WWE crediting? You can watch the video for yourself below; The video is accurate in stating that Punk is a WWE wrestler. He remains under contract and is still featured on the main roster page of WWE.com. However, you would have thought the 'WWE' name would have only been used if Punk was appearing under the umbrella of WWE publicity. This new video listing him in this way could lead to the usual raft of speculation on his WWE status. If this was an appearance he arranged himself, which is presumably what happened, you would have expected him to go on the billing he asked for with Talking Dead. There isn't really much cause to read too much into it all. It's just nice to see and hear from Punk, he is clearly loving the freedom he has to enjoy his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. One further note: the next WWE pay-per-view , Payback, is from Punk's hometown of Chicago. Punk fever is sure to return in the run up.
