CM Punk Returns To His Social Media On Twitter

CM Punk has used his Twitter account for the first time since leaving WWE back in January. Punk 'favorited' a tweet from a fan, which showed a picture of the fan's nephew dressed as Punk with another kid kitted out in Ultimate Warrior gear. While this isn't a direct breaking of his silence, the social media activity is still significant. This means that Punk hasn't cut himself off from contact with the outside world, he is still keeping up to date with what's going on. That means he is well aware of the controversy and questions stirring around him, checking his character Twitter account suggests that he still has some interest in what's going on in the pro wrestling business. The fact he is still using social media but isn't tweeting also supports the notion that WWE has bought his silence with a severance agreement. The Wrestling Observer noted that both Punk's and WWE's silence is unusual, that an agreement on terms of his exit was perhaps agreed. Punk's recent use of Twitter but not to tweet suggests he does indeed have some sort of enforced silence thrust upon him, as a contracted WWE performer he can't really argue if WWE have told him he can leave but can't publicly comment while under contract. When that deal expires in July, perhaps then we will hear from 2014's most controversial superstar. The reason Punk has broken his Twitter silence is symbolic of his own appreciation for The Ultimate Warrior. Punk was a big Warrior fan, by favoriting the picture he has in a way appeared to make his own tribute.
