It seemed in this case that WWE had learned from past misgivings. John Cena and Edge would have a had a perfectly reasonable main event back in 2006's Backlash, if Triple H hadn't snatched the moment. This time around, it was pure one on one, and in Last Man Standing format. It ensured that the bout was of substantial length, and also that both competitors were able to unveil every morsel of skill in their wrestling arsenal.

In this test of endurance, Edge and Cena had the opportunity to elevate their rivalry to dream match status. All the tricks, and a few bonuses, were on display, including a moment when Cena threw Edge into the audience.

A fun finale to this classy match came at the hands of the BIg Show. A silly as it sounded on paper, his choke-slamming of Cena into a giant spotlight was remarkably effective. The piros went of at the exact right moment, and Cena's lifeless form, slouched inside the light's broken frame really made you feel for the guy.
