Goldberg Creates WWE Social Media History

The world 'likes' big Bill...

Goldberg Universal Title

WWE announced during last night's Raw that a pic of Goldberg holding the Universal Title (posted right after last week's Super ShowDown event) has become the most-liked in the promotion's social media history.

To date, the Instagram post has amassed almost 900,000 likes.

The company noted in a WWE.com gallery of the most-liked ever last year that the previous record-holder was Rey Mysterio's 2018 Royal Rumble return. That achieved a dazzling 707,650 likes. Meanwhile, Daniel Bryan's in-ring return the same year got a massive 625,237 likes.

Both of those pale in comparison to the numbers Goldberg is racking up, and that's sure to infuriate those fans who hated the fact he beat Bray Wyatt's 'Fiend' to win the belt in Saudi Arabia. Like the title switch or not, it's easy to see why WWE went that route given this impressive piece of social media history and reports (credited more to John Cena than big Bill, admittedly) that SmackDown's rating received a boost last Friday.

Could it be that the much-maligned Vince McMahon actually knows more than a portion of vocal folks on the internet? No, that just couldn't be, could it?
