WWE booked a six-man tag-team match for the live crowd after cameras stopped rolling on SmackDown.
The actual episode ended with a face-to-face between Royal Rumble rivals Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins - Rollins got the last laugh on that occasion by playing some mind games with the current Universal Champ. That momentum continued post-show.
Seth teamed with The Viking Raiders (who are the number one contenders for the SmackDown Tag Titles) against Reigns and The Usos. The Bloodline has been eating a lot of defeats in dark matches lately, and WWE weren't about to buck that trend in Kansas City.
There's no word yet on who scored the match-winning pin, but Rollins' squad did pick up a crowd-pleasing victory. Another interesting tidbit from fans on social media is that Seth reportedly worked full-on babyface throughout the bout.
That could set the template for what's to come on Saturday night at the Rumble. However, on TV, Rollins still using his overbearingly obnoxious laugh during promos and doesn't come across as 100% baby.
The Viking Raiders' crack at the SmackDown Tag belts hasn't been confirmed at time of writing.
