Kenny Omega Says 90% Of WWE Wrestlers Want To Be In AEW
AEW's top man Kenny Omega thinks WWE's roster is full of want-away workers.
Currently, including legends, WWE literally has hundreds of wrestlers under contract across Raw, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK and at the Performance Center. Get this: Kenny Omega reckons that a whopping 90% of them would much rather ply their trade in AEW.
Yes, ninety percent.
The reigning AEW World Champion told Tokyo Sports that All Elite is definitely the place to be, and that "more will come out [of WWE] in the future". Those fighting words were followed up by Omega picking just one more WWE star to make the leap.
He chose Roman Reigns, which seems impossible in the current climate.
Roman is the reigning Universal Champion, and is smack bang in the middle of a wildly-successful run as WWE's top heel. Plus, he has no reason to jump ship - that didn't stop Kenny from indulging in some fantasy booking though.
When asked to elaborate on his "90%" comment, Omega said that the likes of Jon Moxley, CM Punk and Bryan Danielson "all came [to AEW] in search of what professional wrestling should be". The champ refused to hold back, and doubled down on the idea that AEW is where it's at.
