Bobby Lashley will challenge for Big E's WWE Championship on tonight's episode of Raw, WWE has announced.

This is despite Lashley getting pinned by E on last night's Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view. The duo were on opposing sides in a trios match, with E's New Day stable facing Lashley, AJ Styles, and Omos, when the WWE Champion put Bobby's shoulders to the mat after hitting a Big Ending following Lashley accidentally spearing Styles after tagging himself in.

A backstage segment saw Lashley demand a title shot later on, calling E a chicken and a coward. The WWE Champion responded, saying he'd be in the ring for 8 PM tonight, meaning the bout will open Raw.

This rematch goes down two weeks after E cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Lashley to become WWE Champion for the first time. Bobby had mounted a successful defence against Randy Orton when E hit the ring, took advantage of Lashley's injured knee, and survived a Spear-induced near-fall en route to claiming the gold.

Lashley and E also shared a ring on last week's Raw, with Lashley's interference in The New Day vs. The Bloodline leading to a non-title Triple Threat between Bobby, E, and guest star Roman Reigns.
