Mark Henry Suffers Injury On WWE Raw

Former World Heavyweight Champion was helped by trainers following match.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Mark Henry did indeed suffer a legitimate injury prior to the botched finish of his match with Big E on Raw. Though details about the injury are still unknown, Henry was clutching his midsection following the bout, and was assisted by trainers during the ensuing commercial break. The finish of the match was an alert to everyone watching that something was wrong. Big E sent Mark Henry into the corner, and when the World's Strongest Man came out, the WWE Tag Team Champion lifted him up onto his shoulder. Rather than deliver his "Big Ending" finisher to Henry, though, Big E held the former World Heavyweight Champion up for a few seconds, then dropped him to the mat. Big E then pinned Henry, who was in visible pain after the three count. There is speculation that Henry's injury was rib-related, but so far there has been no confirmation - nor is there any word regarding what specifically caused the injury. It is expected that more details will be known within the next couple of days.
