More AEW Contracts Quietly Expire?
Specifics on what may be a fresh round of AEW departures have not gone public yet.
All Elite Wrestling's ever-changing roster may have experienced some fresh departures lately, with Fightful Select reporting that several per appearance deals have expired in 2022 without going public at the time of publishing.
Said agreements elapsing is described as "under the radar." Currently, there is no word on who they applied to.
There is also no indication that this is tied to the Alan '5' Angels situation as of yet. Ongoing speculation points towards the Dark Order man potentially departing AEW, having tweeted ambiguously then removed references to the promotion from his Twitter profile on Monday.
By policy, AEW does not release wrestlers prior to their contracts expiring, though the promotion has parted ways with a number of performers at the end of their deals in 2022. The likes of Marko Stunt, Jack Evans, and Joey Janela have all left the Tony Khan-helmed company under these circumstances this year, though former executives Cody and Brandi Rhodes stand as the most notable names to leave. Both had been working as free agents since their deals elapsed in late 2021.
Sunday's Forbidden Door event saw the AEW roster continue to grow through the arrival (and confirmed signing) of Claudio Castagnoli.
