Randy Orton Vs. Tommaso Ciampa In WWE: Work Or Shoot?

Will Twitter fingers turn to middle fingers in a WWE ring?

The brief, entertaining Randy Orton vs. Tommaso Ciampa Twitter beef doesn't appear to be heading towards a WWE match.

This is according to Dave Meltzer, who shot down speculation of a bout between the two while speaking on his latest Wrestling Observer Radio show, stating that their social media spat wasn't part of a larger plan or program.

Tensions flew when Orton through a big bucket of sarcasm all over last Sunday's NXT TakeOver: In Your House event, criticising the brand's wrestlers' leg-slapping tendencies. Ciampa bit back, saying Randy's matches were more effective at curing insomnia than NyQuil, before 'The Viper' bodied the "self-appointed lockerroom leader of a wrestling school." By the end, even Orton's wife was getting involved.

The wrestlers haven't interacted with each other since and the situation appears to have cooled off, which is probably for the best.

Orton has never been shy of speaking his mind on social media. For lack of better phrasing, the man doesn't give a f*ck, though it'll be interesting to see if Tommaso has anything to say should Randy's "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" with Edge fail to fit the billing at Backlash this weekend.
