Report: WWE Taping "Several Weeks" Of TV From Friday
The great 2020 content cram continues.
A new report from Fightful Select states that WWE has told their performers that they plan on taping several weeks' worth of television at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida from this Friday through next Thursday.
Three episodes each of Raw and SmackDown will be recorded along with enough content for several NXT shows as well. As has been the case for the past few weeks, these will be empty-arena tapings with no fans in attendance.
Per the report, the promotion has considered airing some of these shows live, effectively backing up WrestleVotes' recent claim that the next two Raw and SmackDown episodes won't be pretaped. WWE is yet to make a decision on this, however.
How WWE will be able to accomplish all this without violating statewide guidance relating to the ongoing global health crisis remains to be seen. Florida has issued a stay-at-home order preventing people from leaving their dwellings for non-essential tasks, meaning WWE will have to contravene these guidelines to go ahead with their content cram, which, at the moment, they seem hell-bent on doing.
If successful, this new batch of tapings would take WWE through to the 1 May episode of SmackDown, leaving only the Money In The Bank go-home shows to cover.
