Ric Flair Praises "Fantastic" AEW Rising Star

Ex-WWE favourite Ric Flair reserved special praise for this young AEW hero.

Ric Flair has become quite the Darby Allin fanboy as of late.

The 'Nature Boy' said on his 'Wooooo Nation Uncensored' podcast that Darby is a "fantastic" young talent who could be described as a "kamikaze pilot". Explaining, Ric recalled watching AEW's product from home and seeing Allin perform his Coffin Drop finish - when Darbs crossed his arms and leapt backwards onto an opponent, Flair says he "came out of [his] chair" and popped big.

He's been sold on Allin ever since then, and loves the dynamic AEW's rising star has with Sting too. Obviously, the Stinger is somebody Ric knows very well. They were peers for years in both WCW and TNA, and Flair thinks it's great that his old friend has a new lease of life under Tony Khan's watch.

Going on, Ric called Allin "very, very humble". Later on the pod, he said he'd also like to pull the 28-year old star to one side and tell him to slow down just a little: "I just hope that, when he’s 35 years old, he can walk! That's what I used to tell Mick Foley".
