In a somewhat shocking piece of new information, Ric Flair's recent contract to serve as a WWE Ambassador reportedly provided the Nature Boy with a bigger payday than his years as WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Flair was earning significantly more on this latest WWE deal than he was when he was ruling the roost in World Championship Wrestling.

While the exact numbers of Naitch's WWE Ambassador deal aren't know, what is known is how much Flair made in WCW during the second half of the '90s. As unearthed a few years ago, the 16-time World Champion earned $513,968 in 1996, $488,412 in 1997 and $780,259 in 1998.

Following his WWE release earlier this week, the Dirtiest Player in the Game issued a statement proclaiming how he and the company are still on good terms. Elsewhere, there have been various reports that Flair complained directly to Vince McMahon over certain booking decisions, requesting (and being granted) his release from McMahon.

What's next for Ric Flair remains to be seen, although it's no secret that Flair and AEW Chairman Tony Khan have been good friends for several years - which, of course, has already seen plentiful speculation that the Nature Boy could at least do something with AEW in the future.
