Roman Reigns could be on the verge of returning to WWE television after an absence going back several weeks.

While WWE is yet to confirm anything, Reigns' manager, Paul Heyman, has teased the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion showing up on Friday's episode of SmackDown.

Responding to the official WWE Twitter account posting a clip of Riddle calling Roman out on this week's Raw, Heyman tweeted:-

Riddle interrupted a Miz TV segment to challenge Reigns on Monday's Raw, then defeated the host in two minutes. The RK-Bro then proclaimed that he was heading to SmackDown, looking for a shot at Roman and his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, perhaps with the Money In The Bank 2022 premium live event in mind (2 July).

Earlier this year, Reigns signed a lucrative new WWE contract allowing him to work a lighter schedule. The 37-year-old has since dialled back on his house show dates particularly heavily, though he has also sat several SmackDown episodes out in recent weeks, having last wrestled onscreen at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 (8 May).

Reigns will reach the two-year mark as WWE's top champion should he survive Riddle's challenge and last until 30 August.
