What If Brock Lesnar Joined AEW

It isn't happening, but what if it did? What would happen if Brock Lesnar was #AllElite?

Ladies and gentlemen, facts are facts; Brock Lesnar is currently the hottest free agent in all of professional wrestling. This comes with a caveat, of course. There is no sum of money that Vince McMahon wouldn't be willing to shell out to stop The Beast Incarnate from stepping foot inside an AEW ring, and Lesnar wrestling anywhere other than WWE at this point in his career is the longest of long shots.

But still, nothing wrong with dreaming, right? Until he re-signs with WWE there is a chance that Lesnar could show up in AEW, bringing his unique brand of suplexes and throws to a whole new world, bringing new fans over to AEW with him. Truth be told, the two would be great for each other, but it is unlikely to happen while Vince McMahon is still alive and has his chequebook within reach.

What would happen if Brock Lesnar signed with AEW? Would he be pushed to the top of the card straight away? It isn't as if Lesnar would start out with a run of squash matches on Dark before feuding with Scorpio Sky on Dynamite, but stranger things have happened.

How should AEW book Brock Lesnar?

10. Old School Vignettes To Build Excitement

If Brock Lesnar was coming to AEW, the company would be absolutely insane to have his debut come unannounced on an episode of Dynamite. Sure, it might cause a stir in the immediate and get people talking, but there is money to be made in building up a major debut. AEW has already done its fair share of surprise debuts, with Sting the most recent example, but history shows that building to a major event has a better chance of doing business.

As great as it would be to see Brock Lesnar debut on AEW by smashing the tar out of, you guessed it, Marko Stunt, the company would be better served by airing a number of vignettes in the weeks building up to his debut. Brock Lesnar doesn't need an introduction but he certainly deserves one, and some old school vignettes could help whet the appetite ahead of an industry-changing moment.

'Brock Lesnar is Coming'.

It carries a certain fear to it, right? Lesnar is a name that rings around the combat world like no other, a sinister presence who owns any room he enters. By putting the entire roster on notice, AEW would be upping the stakes before Brock even arrived.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
